Get your stats by email
Turn on email reports to get your sites' last 7 days in plain words, on the weekdays you pick, without opening the dashboard.
What an email report is
A short email with your sites’ last 7 days, written in plain sentences. You can read it in a minute and skip the dashboard entirely. Reports are off until you turn them on, and each person in your workspace picks their own.
Turn them on
- Open the account menu (your initial, top right) and choose Email notifications.
- In the Email reports card, switch on Send me reports.
- Under On these days, pick the weekdays you want it. Monday alone gives you one weekly email.
- Under About these sites, choose Every site, new ones too, or Only these and tick the sites you care about.
Changes save as you make them. To see what you’ll get, press Send me one now. It arrives within a minute or so.
You need at least one day and at least one site picked. To stop reports, switch them off rather than clearing the days.
When it arrives
Reports go out once a day, in the early morning, just after 3am UTC, on the days you picked. The days are UTC weekdays, so if you live far from UTC, “Monday” may land on your Sunday evening or Monday afternoon.
Every report covers the last 7 days, even if you get it every day. You’ll never get two on the same day.
What’s inside
The subject line gives the headline: for one site, “Your week on example.com: 1,240 visitors (+18%)”; for several, the total across them. The change only shows once the week before had at least 10 visitors.
For each site, up to your 5 busiest:
- Visitors and page views for the 7 days.
- The summary sentences, the same ones you see on the dashboard. See reading the summary.
- When people came: a grid of the last 7 full days in 4-hour blocks, with the busiest one named, in your site’s own time zone.
- Where they came from: the top 3 referring sites.
- Where they are: the top 3 countries, with their share.
- A device line, like “Most visitors used Chrome on a computer, with Windows.”
- See the details, a button to that site’s dashboard.
If you have more than 5 sites, the rest get one line each in a small table with visitors and the change, up to 30 lines.
One small thing: the totals cover the 7 days up to the moment the email is made, so they include the first few hours of today. The “When people came” grid covers the last 7 full days.
Who gets what
- Anyone in the workspace can turn reports on, viewers included.
- Viewers only get the sites they’re allowed to see. See invite your team.
- Sites with no visits yet are left out. If none of your sites has had a visit, Send me one now tells you there’s nothing to report yet.
- The workspace’s name heads the email when it covers several sites. You can change it under Workspace settings → General.
Stop getting them
Switch off Send me reports under Email notifications. Or use the link at the foot of any report:
- Choose which emails you get opens your settings.
- Unsubscribe from all asks you to confirm, then turns off every report and alert for you, in every workspace you’re in. You don’t need to sign in.
Emails about your account itself, like a password reset, still come.
