Plans, trial and billing
How the 14-day free trial works, what happens after it, and how to choose, change or cancel a plan.
The free trial
Every new account starts with a 14-day free trial. No card needed. You get every feature, and room for as many sites and people as the biggest plan.
Plan & billing shows how many days are left. Three days before the end, the owner gets an email, and a reminder appears at the top of the dashboard.
Plans
There’s no free plan after the trial. Plans differ in three things only: page views & events a month, websites and people. Every plan has every feature. See pricing for the plans and what each covers.
You can pay monthly or yearly. Yearly gives you 2 months free.
Prices are in US dollars. Payments are handled by Creem, who act as the seller.
Choose a plan
Only the workspace’s owner can choose or change the plan. Admins and viewers can see the plan and usage, but not change them.
- Open the account menu (your initial, top right) and choose Plan & billing.
- Pick Monthly or Yearly: 2 months free.
- Press Choose next to the plan you want.
- Pay on the checkout page. You come back to Plan & billing, and your plan shows there within a few seconds.
Not sure which fits? The Usage this month card shows your page views & events since the 1st, split By site, and names the plan that fits them.
When the trial ends without a plan
Your stats are hidden until you choose a plan, but Crustat keeps recording every visit. Choose one and everything since you started is there, nothing missing.
If you still don’t choose:
- Two months after the workspace’s first visit was recorded, Crustat stops recording. If you had a plan before, it’s two months after the last paid period ended. The owner gets an email a week before.
- 90 days after that, the workspace’s sites and their stats are deleted.
Choosing a plan before the sites are deleted brings your stats back and starts recording again. Visits that came while it was stopped are gone. Email reports and alerts pause while there’s no plan.
Change your plan
- Move up: takes effect straight away. You pay the difference now.
- Move down: takes effect at the end of the period you’ve already paid for, with nothing charged now. Until then, the plan’s row says At renewal, and Stay on it undoes the change.
- Monthly to yearly on the same plan is treated as moving up.
Cancel
Press Cancel plan and confirm. Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Changed your mind? Press Keep my plan before then.
A cancelled plan can’t be changed. Press Keep my plan first, then move up or down.
Card and invoices
Press Card and invoices to open Creem’s page, where you update your card and download invoices.
If a payment doesn’t go through, your plan keeps working while Creem tries again. Plan & billing tells you to check your card.
What uses up your allowance
Each of these uses one from your plan’s monthly page views & events:
- Page views: every page opened.
- Outbound clicks: links to other sites, email and phone links.
- File downloads.
- Custom events.
Bot traffic never does, and neither does the time-on-page signal the tracker sends when someone leaves a page. The charts in your dashboard still show page views on their own.
Going over your page views & events
Crustat never stops recording and never charges extra when a site gets busier than its plan. If you go over your plan’s page views & events two months in a row, the owner gets one email and a note on Plan & billing suggesting a bigger plan.
