Add and manage your sites
Add a site, find its site ID, rename it, add extra domains, set its time zone, or delete it for good.
Add a site
Owners and admins can add sites. Press Add site in the top bar (or Add a site in the site picker). If it’s your first site, the form is right on the page. Fill in:
- Domain: just the address, like
example.com. You can paste a full link; Crustat keeps only the address and dropshttps://, any path and a leadingwww.. - Name (optional): what you call it. Crustat looks up your site’s title and fills it in for you. Change it if you like.
Press Add site, and you land on the site’s Install page with your tracking line ready to copy. See add Crustat to your website.
A few rules:
- The domain needs a dot, so
localhostwon’t work. Crustat skips visits onlocalhostanyway. - You can’t add the same domain twice in one workspace.
- How many sites you can have depends on your plan. See pricing.
Your site ID
Every site gets a site ID: a code of 16 letters, numbers and symbols, already inside your tracking line as data-site="…". Plugins and packages ask for it on its own. Find it under Site settings → Install, next to Site ID, with a Copy ID button.
The ID never changes, so you never have to update your pages.
Rename a site
Go to Site settings → General and edit Site name, then Save. The new name shows for everyone in your workspace.
The domain itself can’t be changed. If your site moves to a new address, add the new address under Domains (below), or add it as a new site.
Subdomains and extra domains
Subdomains are already included. If your site is example.com, visits to blog.example.com or app.example.com with the same line show up in the same stats.
If the same line also runs on a different domain, like a separate shop at example-shop.com, add it:
- Open Site settings → General.
- Under Domains, type it in Add a domain and press Add.
A site can have up to 9 domains besides its main one. New visits on an added domain start showing within about 5 minutes.
Once a site has more than one domain, a menu appears next to the date range on your dashboard. Pick All of example.com to see everything together, or one domain on its own.
Pages that load your line on an address that isn’t listed, like a copy of your site on someone else’s server, are left out of your stats. See how bots are kept out.
Want a subdomain’s stats kept fully apart instead? Add it as its own site, with its own line.
Set the time zone
A site’s days and hours follow a clock: when “Today” starts, which day a visit belongs to, and the hours on the chart.
- Workspace settings → General → Time zone sets it for every site.
- Site settings → General → Time zone sets it for one site, if it’s different.
Type a city, a region or an offset like UTC+3. With nothing set, Crustat uses UTC. Changing the zone affects how the numbers are shown from then on; days already saved in History stay as they were.
Delete a site
Owners and admins can delete a site under Site settings → Delete site. Press Delete site, then Delete for good.
This can’t be undone. The site leaves your dashboard, along with its goals, events, share link, Search Console connection and History. Within about 5 minutes, the line on your pages stops recording visits. Remove the line from your pages too, since it no longer does anything.
See how long your data is kept for what happens to the data underneath.
Who can do what
Viewers can open Site settings and copy the line and site ID, but can’t change anything. See invite your team.
