About Crustat

Andrei Surdu

Hi, I’m Andrei. I built Crustat to keep an eye on my Claude Code usage — and to pace myself before I hit a session limit.

I use Claude Code all day. When a long session is humming, the last thing I want is to get cut off because I quietly burned through my limit. Crustat keeps that one glance away in the menu bar, so I can ease off or tighten up my prompts as I get close — instead of finding out the hard way. I made it for myself first, then polished it enough to share.

How it’s built

It’s deliberately small and local-first: it reads your usage on your own machine and talks only to Anthropic’s API — no accounts, no servers of mine, and no tracking in the app itself.

Connect

If Crustat earns a spot in your menu bar, I’d love to connect on LinkedIn. And if you have an idea or run into a bug, reach out there too — I’m always glad to hear from people who actually use it.
